Centerplate to Run F&B at World Market Center Las Vegas

The World Market Center is the home of the Las Vegas Market. (Courtesy Centerplate) Company plans to reinvent the guest experience at venue Centerplate has won the bidding for the hospitality contract at the World Market Center Las Vegas. The long-term agreement calls for Centerplate to manage food and beverage, catering and concessions services at the venue. Mortillaro Promoted in New Orleans

Morial Convention Center) She becomes director of marketing and communications at convention center Rosalie Mortillaro has been promoted to director of marketing and communications at the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center. Mortillaro has been at the convention center for 16 years, 12 as communications manager and four as a communications specialist. In her new role, Mortillaro will lead the creative services unit and oversee the planning, development, design and production of all marketing strategies. She is also a past vice president of communications for the New Orleans chapter of the International Association of Business Communicators. Mortillaro will play a key role in developing marketing and communications strategies as the venue undergoes a $557 million improvement plan for a mixed-use development, pedestrian park, transportation center, and building upgrades.

It’s a new position, and the move took effect Thursday. Cantone was the senior vice president of the casino gaming empire before the bump. “This grows my role as we expand internationally,” Cantone said. “It’s been in the works for some time. A Buss Buys The Ice House

(Courtesy The Ice House) Pasadena comedy institution sells to LA Lakers part-owner Bob Fisher, who has owned Pasadena, Calif., stand-up comedy venue The Ice House for 41 years, has sold the club to Johnny Buss, one of the owners of the NBA’s Los Angeles Lakers. The sale closed Nov. 1. The Ice House has an intimate 200-seat main room and a second showroom called Stage 2, as well as an outdoor deck and courtyard. This year is the 59th anniversary of The Ice House. Eternal presidential candidate Pat Paulson was the first comedian to hit the stage in 1960. (Courtesy FanFood) Pilot test sees candy sales at ballpark more than double using mobile phone technology App maker FanFood and the Mars Wrigley confectionery company managed to more than double candy sales using mobile technology in a two-month pilot test at Durham Bulls Athletic Park in North Carolina. The 10,000-seat ballpark, home to the Durham Bulls, the Triple-A affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays, picked FanFood to be its in-seat and order pickup partner two years ago. Bull City Hospitality, the concessionaire for the Bulls, is staffed and run by the team. The beta test with the candy company was conducted in July and August, during the busy summer months of the Bulls’ season.
