(Getty Images) Spain first in Europe to open clubs, but big venues get little guidance Spain is the first European country to announce an official plan for reviving the country’s cultural industry, and it’s a slow burner in four stages. After an initial preparatory phase that will last until May 11, indoor venues up to 90 capacity will be allowed to host a maximum of 30 people. Open-air events will be allowed to host up to 200 people, as long as they’re seated and ensure that restrictions on distance are kept. Every two weeks, capacities will increase, to 50 people indoors and 400 outdoors from May 25, which is when cinemas, theaters, exhibition halls and other public spaces will open, albeit at one-third of their usual capacity. Royal Albert Hall Streaming Concerts

Royal Albert Home is the historic London venue’s new streaming concert series. Program continues after kickoff by Wainwright last week The Royal Albert Hall is streaming a season of free shows on its website directly from artists’ living rooms. The program will include performances by some artists whose Royal Albert Hall concerts were canceled because of the COVID-19 outbreak. Confirmed acts include the Cosmic Shambles Network show “Sea Shambles,” scheduled for May 17. Several artists with whom the Royal Albert Hall has worked also confirmed they will give a concert from their homes, including British singer-songwriter and cellist Ayanna Witter-Johnson, who headlined the Women and the Hall season, and tenor Alfie Boe, who has performed at the hall many times. Singer-songwriter Rufus Wainwright kicked things off April 9, performing from his home near Los Angeles. Wainright reportedly performed for about 30 minutes and took some requests from the audience. Oak View Group picks Royal BAM Group for construction, Populous for design Oak View Group appointed Royal BAM Group as construction partner as well as architecture design firm Populous to build the planned 350 million pound ($433 million) arena project in Manchester, England. BAM has experience building stadiums across the world and has been active in England’s North West since 1933. It has built some of Manchester’s most recognizable structures, such as the City Football Academy, the National Graphene Institute and the Co-Operative Group HQ.
