HBCU Bands ‘March’ Into the Spotlight

The Black Lives Matter movement has, in part, brought renewed interest to the nation’s HBCUs – the 107 Historically Black Colleges and Universities established after the Civil War and then reconfirmed by the Higher Education Act of 1965, which expanded federal funding for “any historically black university established prior to 1964, whose principal was, and is, the education of Black Americans.”
