Engine Off, Party On! As America’s Wildest Drive-In Experience, The Parking Lot Social, Announces Summer 2020 Tour

XL Event Labs, which built The Big Bounce America around what it called the world’s biggest bounce house, will send The Parking Lot Social out for multinight stands in 11 cities tour starting June 23 with a free event for local front-line medical staff in Houston. Entertainment at the invent will include “Car-A-Oke,” silent disco, live bands, interactive trivia, stand-up comedians, and food and drinks.

Audio will be transmitted from the stage to wireless headphones that will be supplied to guests. Tickets will start at $30.

IAVM’s VenueConnect 2020 Is Going Virtual

The International Association of Venue Managers announced Thursday morning that it will present its annual conference, VenueConnect, in a virtual format because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

North Carolina’s Major Venues Team Up to Plan for Return of Concerts, Broadway and Comedy Events

A new coalition, NC Live, will provide guidance and best practices to ensure safe reopening of North Carolina arts and entertainment venues. The group’s executive committee has representatives from Blumenthal Performing Arts in Charlotte, Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts in Raleigh, Durham Performing Arts Center, Greensboro Coliseum Complex, Live Nation Carolinas, Spectrum Center in Charlotte and Red Hat Amphitheater in Raleigh.

Quail Hollow Club to Host PGA Championship in 2025

Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte, N.C., will host the 2025 PGA Championship, the PGA of America announced.

The course, which opened in 1961, will be playing host to its second PGA Championship. In August 2017, a 24-year-old Justin Thomas finished two shots clear of Francesco Molinari, Louis Oosthuizen and Patrick Reed to claim the initial major championship victory of his career.

Madison Square Garden Sports Corp. Reports Fiscal 2020 Third Quarter Results

The company, formerly The Madison Square Garden Co., included the financial results of both the sports and entertainment businesses because it completed the spin-off of its entertainment businesses into a new company called Madison Square Garden Entertainment Corp. in April. The company reported adjusted operating income of $11.6 million, down 86% from the prior year quarter, in a reporting period dominated by the arrival of the COVID-19 pandemic.
