District General Manager | Oak View Group
General Manager | Alerus Center
It’s not just markets like Los Angeles and New York that greatly benefit from the live entertainment boom in the 2020s. Nearly every region has seen a bump in grosses and ticket sales in the last few years, especially at venues with savvy and forward-thinking executives at the helm.
Anna Rosburg, district general manager of Oak View Group and general manager of Alerus Center, has seen success spread to the Midwest and the Grand Forks, North Dakota, arena.
“I love what I do every day, and I am so excited to be driving results within Alerus Center, the Midwest markets I am involved in, and for OVG,” Rosburg said. “Specifically, at Alerus Center in Grand Forks, our team has recently rolled out on-field suites for our tenant team, University of North Dakota Football, and in-seat service for our non-suite premium seats. I am looking forward to finessing these initiatives with our talented partnerships and food and beverage managers.” OVG is parent company to VenuesNow.
“Additionally, we have so much potential in our Midwest markets with general managers who are doing a great job driving results for their municipalities,” she added. “At the end of the day, it is the creative ways to drive revenue and guest experience that I am most passionate about.”
Rosburg was promoted to district general manager last year and has developed relationships with promoters and clients from many markets “to learn the nuances of each venue and community,” knowledge she hopes to pass on to future general managers within the OVG pipeline. It’s helped her produce a record year in Grand Forks, driving $20 million to the local economy.
“Our Zach Bryan shows in August of 2024 broke our facility’s all-time attendance record previously held by Luke Combs in 2021, and it was the first two-night concert engagement at Alerus Center,” Rosburg said. “Being able to bring an event like that to a community is incredibly rewarding and the impact is staggering, but my favorite part is being able to feel the energy in the room and know that we are really all in the business of making memories.”
Rosburg strives to lead a venue that represents its community, a place where people feel seen, and she hopes the inclusivity and positivity emanating from Alerus Center rubs off on fans and staff to make live entertainment better for everyone.
“Diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility are still and will continue to be critical for our industry as a key social issue,” Rosburg said. “The industry has changed substantially since I began my career and the rooms look different than they once did, which is great progress in making the entertainment and venue industry more diverse.” — Oscar Areliz
