Stephanie Steele
Vice President of Process Management | Live Nation Entertainment
Stephanie Steele and her team at Live Nation are doing their part to preserve beloved venues and introduce new ones that fans and artists can claim as a second home.
“Reflecting on the past year, I’m thankful to say that there have been many successes,” said Steele, vice president of process management at Live Nation. “This year our team brought live music back to the historic Brooklyn Paramount, modernized the artist and fan experience at the beloved Northwell at Jones Beach Theater and brought Punch Line Comedy Club to Houston. My highlight reel is full of memories of watching crew, artists and fans experience these venues. I’m grateful to have played an integral role in these incredible projects this year.”
Such projects can be as challenging as they are fulfilling for Steele, especially when working with iconic venues that have history, like Brooklyn Paramount and Jones Beach.
“We worked hard to build on each venue’s well-established identity and also reinvigorate them for their next chapter,” she said. “Being at the center of these projects allowed me to reimagine the backstage experience at Jones Beach and introduce young fans to Brooklyn Paramount’s rich legacy. It was rewarding to impact both the fan and artist experience in such a memorable way at those two New York venues.”
Live Nation will have new venues opening over the next few years to make live music more accessible to communities across the country, a feat that gratifies Steele, especially with the promoter giant incorporating more women in leadership roles, including herself. She does what she can to enhance the fan experience and help others like her along the way.
“It’s great to see Live Nation focusing on this through programs and initiatives like an employee resource group dedicated entirely to connecting, supporting and empowering women in entertainment, as well as Live Nation Women, a division with the mission to power progress for women,” she said. “I do everything I can to uplift new leaders and develop future talent. Sometimes a brand-new general manager needs guidance, and I pay it forward by sharing what I’ve learned in my career.
“It’s important to me to help the next generation of live,” she adds. “My team is uniquely situated to touch every part of the venue business, so it’s the perfect place for new industry professionals to learn the ropes. I pride myself on welcoming new leaders to the venue world and teaching them what I can.” — Oscar Areliz
