More than 65 million years after dinosaurs roamed the earth, Feld Entertainment’s Jurassic World Live Tour will bring the planet’s biggest, fiercest creatures back to life. Many predict the new high-tech stage show will put some bite into the prehistoric beasts’ already healthy pop culture cred as well as boost Feld’s bottom line. Courtesy of Feld, here are some numbers to chew on. 69 Stops in the first half of the inaugural two-year tour. 28 Dates announced, 41 to come. 7 Types of dinosaurs in the show: Stegosaurus, Velociraptor, Triceratops, Pteranodon, Tyrannosaurus rex, Troodon and Indominus rex, a fictional hybrid featured in the latest film. 40 Length in feet of the Tyrannosaurus rex. 75-125 Weight in pounds of a Jurassic World Live dinosaur costume. 26 Cast members in Jurassic World Live. Las Cruces Recommends SMG for Job

SMG will take over operations at the Las Cruces Convention Center in New Mexico, pending City Council approval. (Courtesy Las Cruces Convention Center) Council to vote on firm’s taking over management of N.M. convention center Las Cruces, N.M., has chosen SMG over incumbent Spectra to manage the Las Cruces Convention Center, a city spokesman said. “While the decision to replace SMG for Spectra has been made, it still needs to be ratified by the Las Cruces City Council before made official,” said Udell Vigil, Las Cruces’ public information officer. “At the moment it’s still a recommendation to the City Council that SMG be hired. There is no official contract until they sign off, but it would be highly unusual for the City Council to reject the recommendation to hire SMG.” It was not known when the council vote would take place. Life’s a Beach at New LA-Area Festival

The sun- and surf-themed BeachLife Festival will be held in Redondo Beach this weekend. BeachLife Festival in Redondo Beach makes debut this weekend The inaugural BeachLife Festival, a celebration of Southern California’s beach culture, will sail into Redondo Beach this weekend, May 3-5. The festival will feature more than 40 bands, local culinary experiences, art and multiple surf and skateboarding components. “We’ve built a three-day immersive experience on one of Los Angeles’ most famous beaches,” said Rob Lissner, co-founder of BeachLife. “It’s going to be the biggest beach party in California.” The ultimate beach boy, Brian Wilson, is one of the headliners. SeatGeek Hires Brian Murphy

Brian Murphy. Former Tumblr exec will lead domestic, international engineering SeatGeek has hired Brian Murphy as chief technology officer. Murphy joins SeatGeek from Tumblr, where he led multiple engineering teams. Before that, he was vice president of engineering at The New York Times and senior director of technology at Condé Nast. Murphy will lead the domestic and international engineering teams and oversee the development of integrated technology products. Murphy is the latest high-profile hire for the ticket company as it expands. SeatGeek also recently hired Danielle du Toit, who is SeatGeek’s first president of SeatGeek Enterprise.
