The planned $60 million, 3,000-seat Borland Center in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., may be the first performing arts center that was built, rather than bought or booked, by a church. In this case, the project was undertaken by Palm Beach Community Church. There are still several hurdles to jump, most importantly all the necessary city permits, before the venue becomes reality.
