Public assembly construction in China was exploding even before the announcement that the 2008 Olympic Games would be played in Beijing. But now, with 11 new venues associated with those games, which kick off Aug. 8, 2008, the growth has accelerated even more.

"There is a lot of building going on in China and they are some very big buildings, big developments," said Jay Thompson, principal, Thompson, Ventulett, Stainback & Associates (TVS), Atlanta.
