Demand for rehearsal space in New York has greatly outpaced availability, but now a new practice space in midtown Manhattan is hoping to ease the pressure on the city’s symphony halls.

On March 8, the $37-million DiMenna Classical Music Center opened its doors, offering two large-scale practice spaces for Orchestra of St. Luke’s and other classical groups to practice. The facility’s Cary Hall is about 3,500 sq. ft., while the smaller Benzaquen Hall is 1,700 sq. ft.
