NEW BRAND, SAME MISSION: The Event and Arena Marketing Conference changed its name Event & Venue Marketing Conference to reflect industry “growth and evolution” of the live industry.

New name Reflects Growth and Dynamism of Live Industry

The Event and Arena Marketing Conference concluded today in Seattle with the announcement of a rebrand, with the annual conference now renamed the Event & Venue Marketing Conference, or EVMC.

The EAMC moniker has been in place since 2004, when the organization was recognized as a non-profit entity.

The conference dates to 1980 in Minneapolis, when ten arena marketers gathered at the Met Center for the first official meeting of what was then called the Arena Sales and Marketing Conference.

The aim then was the same as it is now: to share knowledge, network and further professionalize the marketing and public relations disciplines within the venues industry with innovation and creative thinking.

The conference was formalized in 1999 and renamed the Arena Marketing Conference, Inc.

EVMC is organized by volunteers in the venues industry who put on the conference in a different North American city each year. It’s billed as the venues industry’s only marketing-focused conference aimed at event marketers at venues and promoters internationally.

Attendance at this year’s June 7-9 conference topped 450, which an organizer said was a record.

Next year’s conference is June 5-7 at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver.
