Caesars Entertainment Company is proposing a new billion-dollar development on the site of the O'Sheas — a rundown, Irish-themed casino on the strip. The new Linq development will be anchored by a massive 550-foot Observation Wheel, with passenger capsules capable of holding 36 people, decked out with high-definition video and audio. A ride on the wheel — which takes 30 minutes per revolution — is expected to draw 3-5 million visitors a year, changing the skyline of the city and creating a central location on Las Vegas Boulevard.
“We are enhancing the allure of the resort experience in a coveted location, introducing an exciting new offering not only for guests occupying our own 24,000 Las Vegas hotel rooms, but also for all who live in and visit Las Vegas,” said Gary Loveman, chairman, president and CEO of Caesars Entertainment Corporation.
The Linq will include 200,000 sq. ft. of retail and restaurants and will bring upgrades to three large mid-Strip Caesars Entertainment resorts.
There's more about Linq in the November issue of Venues Today, but for now, we're sharing some recently released renderings for the project.
