After more than 100 days of haggling over a new collective bargaining agreement, the National Hockey League is back.

On Jan. 6, the league and its players came to an agreement to end a dramatic and drawn-out work stoppage that left some of professional sports' most passionate fans out in the cold.

Now the league is expected to announce a 48-game season.
