VACCARELLO

Madison Square Garden Entertainment Corp. named Josephine Vaccarello as Executive Vice President, Live. Previously, Vaccarello worked as Senior Vice President, MSG Live and Business Operations. Vaccarello will report to executive chairman and chief executive officer, James Dolan. Vaccarello’s new role sees her leading MSG Entertainment’s live entertainment bookings business, including concerts, family shows, comedy, performing arts, venue tours and special events for all the company’s venues. She will also oversee booking concert residencies at MSG’s new property, MSG Sphere, which will open in Las Vegas in the second half of 2023.

OELZE

Gary Oelze, who owned and ran The Birchmere in Alexandria, Virginia, has died. He opened the club, which had operated as a restaurant under its previous owner, in a strip mall in 1966. It’s been at Mount Vernon Avenue since 1997. A Kentucky native and military veteran, Oelze brought in top acts in bluegrass, country, rock and more. He was 80.

 

 

ARNDT

Barton Malow Builders, whose business includes the construction of arenas and stadiums, has promoted Larry Arndt to vice president of the south region, including all Florida operations. Arndt has 30-plus years of experience in design and construction. He’ll work out of Barton Malow’s Tampa and Orlando offices and report to chief operating officer Todd Ketola. Barton Malow is general contractor for the University of South Florida’s new football stadium and is consulting with the Jacksonville Jaguars for a proposed renovation of TIAA Bank Field.
