PALMIOTTI

Oak View Group has named Nick Palmiotti as the new general manager of the Tyson Events Center and Orpheum Theatre in Sioux City, Iowa. OVG provides management, food and hospitality services at the venues. Palmiotti, who began his new role on Monday, joined OVG360, formerly Spectra, in 2019 as the director of sales and marketing for the Pueblo Convention Center and Pueblo Memorial Hall in Colorado and also spent time promoting events for Professional Bull Riders.

 

 

RUSHTON

AEG Presents announced the appointment of Crissie Rushton to the role of general manager at The Halls Wolverhampton in England, where she will be responsible for overseeing all operations at the historic venue. Formerly known as the Wolverhampton Civic Halls, the self-proclaimed home for live music in the West Midlands will reopen in June 2023, following a multimillion-pound refurbishment in partnership with the City of Wolverhampton Council. Rushton has been working with the venue for more than two decades in various capacities during her tenure at the City of Wolverhampton Council. Her career spans a variety of senior roles, including head of visitor experience, visitor economy manager and duty events manager. In her new role as general manager with AEG Presents, Rushton will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the venue’s operations and identifying  new partners and content.

PHILLIPS

Dan Phillips has joined HOK as a principal and senior project designer in Dallas. Phillips spent the past several years with HKS, where he worked on multiple college projects, including TCU’s Amon G. Carter Stadium and Schollmaier Arena and College Park Center Arena at the University of Texas-Arlington. In addition, he designed MLB spring training facilities for the Detroit Tigers and the Chicago White Sox and Los Angeles Dodgers. Phillips was part of the design group for Globe Life Field, the Texas Rangers’ stadium that opened in 2020.

HAGAN // HOLLAND

Andrew Hagan and Chris Holland of Theatre Projects have become members of the American Society of Theatre Consultants. Hagan was voted in as a full member and Holland as an associate member at the ASTC’s annual meeting earlier this month. Theatre Projects has collaborated on more than 1,800 arts and entertainment, education and retail venues in over 80 countries as well as hospitality, sports and corporate events for 65 years.

 

DIAZ

Chris Diaz has joined the talent booking team at Nederlander Concerts. He has two decades of live industry experience and will work with the company’s talent booking team to program its core venues, including City National Grove of Anaheim, Heart Health Park in Sacramento, Hollywood Pantages Theatre, San Jose Civic, Vina Robles Amphitheatre in Paso Robles and additional venues in the Nederlander network, such as the Greek Theatre, Bank of America Performing Arts Center in Thousand Oaks and Microsoft Theater.

 

 

LOEB

Nederlander Concerts has promoted longtime marketing exec Jamie Loeb to senior vice president, where she will continue to report directly to CEO Alex Hodges, who says that Loeb is a strong leader who was instrumental in getting the company through the pandemic. Loeb joined the promoter and venue operator in 2008 as vice president of marketing. She is responsible for the online development, marketing initiatives and promotional campaigns for Nederlander’s venues and its bookings at third-party facilities.   Loeb was senior director of national tour marketing at Live Nation. Nederlander Concerts was ranked No. 16 worldwide in Pollstar Magazine’s Year-End report for 2022 ticket sales.
