N.C. Concert Hall Readies for Debut

Coliseum Complex is adding another live event space to its multitude of entertainment venues. Piedmont Hall, a new 2,300-capacity general admission facility, opens Sept. 6 with Aaron Lewis and the Stateliners, the first of nine concerts currently booked through early November. The 20,000-square-foot building sits across the street from the coliseum. It’s a retrofit of a 1920s-era soda bottling plant, first occupied by Coca-Cola and later Canada Dry. The $4 million project was funded by sponsorships tied to coliseum vendors Ticketmaster and concessionaire Spectra Food Services, said Scott Johnson, the complex’s deputy director.
