N.C. Concert Hall Readies for Debut

Coliseum Complex is adding another live event space to its multitude of entertainment venues. Piedmont Hall, a new 2,300-capacity general admission facility, opens Sept. 6 with Aaron Lewis and the Stateliners, the first of nine concerts currently booked through early November. The 20,000-square-foot building sits across the street from the coliseum. It’s a retrofit of a 1920s-era soda bottling plant, first occupied by Coca-Cola and later Canada Dry. The $4 million project was funded by sponsorships tied to coliseum vendors Ticketmaster and concessionaire Spectra Food Services, said Scott Johnson, the complex’s deputy director. Coliseum officials will operate Piedmont Hall and have a concert booking deal with Live Nation.
