Piedmont Hall, a 20,000-square-foot flex-space facility, had its ceremonial ribbon cutting Sept. 5 and opened Sept. 6 across the street from the complex. The venue is in an old Coca-Cola bottling company warehouse that underwent a $4 million renovation funded by sponsorships tied to vendors Tickemaster and Spectra Food Services. “We did an analysis and found that younger people wanted something to do,” said Scott Johnson, the complex’s deputy director. “This industrial space appeals to them, and offers a standing-room-only concert venue that was needed in our community.” The space includes multiple levels, with a sunken dance floor pit and a stage 42 inches above it.
