When Orleans Arena in Las Vegas opened in 2003, the possibilities of hosting basketball tournaments were limited to local high school sports. Because of its on-site casino and sports book, it wasn’t until a 2006 rule change that the arena was allowed to host NCAA basketball events. Since the ruling, Orleans Arena has positioned itself in a growing college basketball market, hosting nearly 70 games and attracting two major conference tournaments.
