Becky Colwell
General Manager | Kia Forum
VP, Music and Events | Intuit Dome
Becky Colwell moved to Kia Forum/Inuit Dome from Los Angeles’ Greek Theatre, where she was general manager under AEG, in October of 2022, and since then has focused on adding her expertise with an already successful operation and staff.
“We’ve had a great year, focused on growing as a team and supporting incredible events highlighted by two unprecedented residencies, Harry Styles’ 15 sold-out Harry’s House shows and Maná’s unprecedented 27 total Forum shows to date, and the first residency of its kind in Los Angeles,” Colwell said.
Working to “amplify the Kia Forum’s expertise and reputation as an iconic venue,” and to help develop Intuit Dome, the new home of the NBA Los Angeles Clippers that opens in a year, Colwell says she and her team “can build upon the expertise and learnings of a successful venue like the Kia Forum, to create an innovative, tech-forward fan experience at Intuit Dome.”
Colwell says she’s excited about innovation and fan-focused content from artists in the live events space and adds that it’s been fun to see acts like K-pop artist Suga use tools like light sticks to help fans engage with their shows in real time.
“Interactive technology that puts fans at the center of the live event experience will be just one way Intuit Dome pushes the venue industry forward,” she said.
Prior to the Greek Theatre, she was general manager of the Booth Amphitheatre in Cary, North Carolina, and before that was sales director at Walnut Creek Amphitheatre in Raleigh, North Carolina.
As for what lies ahead, she said, “The combined package of a brand new, tech-led arena that’s focused on the fan and a Southern California institution like the Kia Forum will give every performer and fan the best venue option to enjoy live events.”
She notes that in the next year, the Forum will host performances by Bruce Springsteen, Stevie Nicks, Aerosmith, Madonna, Romeo Santos, Luis Miguel, The Rose, Lil Uzi Vert and Jerry Seinfeld.
“It’s going to be another great year,” she said. — James Zoltak
