(Jessica Lema / City of Scottsdale) Spring training stadium project adds space for conventions, trade shows SCOTTSDALE, ARIZ. — A more than $50 million project at Scottsdale Stadium designed to upgrade the San Francisco Giants’ spring training home and provide badly needed event space for the Arizona city was to be unveiled to fans in time for the team’s opening game, officials said. Teams of workers scrambled to complete work on the project in early February under clear blue skies at the Giants’ spring stadium in the city’s Old Town as players began filing into the ballpark, which first opened its gates in 1992.
