There are plenty of people working in the various aspects of live entertainment who got involved in the business by who they know. In Dyann Lesnever’s case, her involvement was practically inevitable because it wasn’t just someone she knew, but someone who raised her.
“My journey in the live industry was sparked by my mother, who managed the makeup and hair team at Telemundo,” said Lesnever, a University of Florida graduate who worked in radio before landing at Ticketmaster as senior manager of artist and promoter relations in the Latin music space. “I was able to attend many live shows with her, which was captivating then and still is now. I remember sitting backstage during the Latin Billboards and telling her that someday, I was going to help bring live shows to audiences, too.”
Mission accomplished for Lesnever, who has helped fans connect with their favorite artists through Ticketmaster, most recently leading the launch of the first Latin artist to embrace her employer’s registration product. That group was none other than iconic Mexican pop group RBD, who sold out their global tour in less than a day, and superstar Karol G followed their lead in using Ticketmaster’s registration process.
“Witnessing the joy, nostalgia and excitement these artists bring to fans of all ages reaffirms my commitment to making these experiences better for everyone involved,” Lesnever said. “Ensuring that fans can enjoy these unforgettable experiences, and artists continue to thrive by selling tickets to their shows, motivates me daily.”
Helping those working in the Latin music industry find success is especially fulfilling for Lesnever because of her childhood memories of spending Christmas with family in Mexico and playing music, which she said ignited her passion for the art.
“Witnessing the explosion of Latin music has been inspiring, and it has been great to see the energy and passion these artists bring to their fans, often transcending language barriers,” Lesnever said. “My goal is to ensure that all Latin artists, regardless of their social media or Spotify following, have access to the best tools and opportunities that Ticketmaster has available. It is important to me that Latin artists not only feel supported but are empowered to use Ticketmaster tools, which I believe have a real and noticeable impact on touring success.”
