Former Disney Imagineer will help shape content creation tech for new arenas

The Madison Square Garden Co. has picked Jennifer Vogt to help with content development for its new MSG Sphere entertainment venues.

As president of creative content and productions, Vogt will also oversee strategy and development for MSG’s “Radio City Christmas Spectacular” and the Radio City Rockettes.

Vogt, according to the company, “will work with the MSG Sphere construction and technology teams to develop a set of tools, called the ‘palette,’ that will make content creation for MSG Sphere an intuitive experience, enabling artists, creators and educators to maximize the potential of the venue’s immersive technologies.”

Vogt comes to MSG from Walt Disney Imagineering, where she was show design and production executive for the new Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge attraction at Walt Disney Co. theme parks. Before that, she worked as a management consultant for DreamWorks Animation. Vogt has held a number of finance, consulting and internal audit positions at KPMG and Hewlett-Packard Co.

The first MSG Sphere is under construction in Las Vegas and is expected to be completed during calendar year 2021. This will be followed by MSG’s first international venue in London, which is expected to open about a year later, pending necessary approvals.

Vogt will report to MSG’s president, Andrew Lustgarten.
