A New Version of Immersion

Set on 35,000 square feet in the historic Arts District in downtown Los Angeles, the facility is actually five geodesic domes that together provide an immersive art experience. It makes Wisdome “the world’s first immersive art park as far as we know,” according to board member and Chief Operating Officer Stephen Powers. “In essence we are a location-based virtual reality theme park.” There are five domes of different sizes, the largest running 90 feet in diameter. Guests sit in seats (VIP ticket buyers get reclining couches) or buy a general admission no-seat ticket. “We call it dancing room, not standing room,” Powers said. Stone Takes Chase Center GM Role

Kim Stone is the first general manager of San Francisco’s Chase Center.  Longtime exec for Miami Heat, AmericanAirlines Arena takes ‘opportunity of a lifetime’ Kim Stone has been named general manager of San Francisco’s Chase Center. Stone is the executive vice president of business development for the Miami Heat and AmericanAirlines Arena, a position she started last fall after serving 12 years as the venue’s general manager. Brian Sipe takes role as Rupp Arena booking director

Brian Sipe was general manager of Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza in Wilkes-Barre, Pa. (Courtesy OVG) Oak View Group Facilities and the Lexington Center Corp. have installed Brian Sipe as director of booking at Rupp Arena. Sipe was general manager of Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza in Wilkes-Barre, Pa. Before that, Sipe was the box office manager at the Sovereign Bank Arena in Trenton, N.J.; booking and box office manager at the Sovereign Center in Reading, Pa.; and general manager of the Big Sandy Superstore Arena in Huntington, W.Va. OVG Facilities and Lexington Center Corp. entered into a three-year partnership in February 2018 in which OVG will focus on all areas of event programming beyond University of Kentucky athletic events.

(Getty Images) Eagles make it look easy in NZ; Mariah Carey beats back Broadway It’s not quite a double eagle on the scorecard, but it’s an Eagles double on Hot Tickets this week, as the band topped two of our categories during its New Zealand swing. The band drew 31,519 for a March 2 show at Forsyth Barr Stadium in Dunedin, grossing $6.66 million, leading the largest category, and had sales of nearly $3.3 million for two shows Feb. 26-27 at Spark Arena in Auckland. It was nearly a Broadway takeover among venues with capacities of 5,000 or less, but Mariah Carey held off the charge. Logjam’s roster includes the 600-capacity Top Hat Lounge, which opened in 2013; the 1,500-capacity Wilma, 2015; the 4,500-capacity KettleHouse Amphitheater, 2017; and the 10,000-capacity Ogren Park Amphitheater, which the company will run for 20 years after reaching a deal with the city of Missoula in 2018. The latest addition to the roster will be The Elm, a $5 million, 1,500-capacity facility 3.5 hours away from Missoula in Bozeman.
