(Courtesy San Diego Padres) Compass Premier Club has real estate broker as newly signed naming-rights sponsor Major League Baseball’s San Diego Padres have revamped a premium club at Petco Park and signed real estate broker Compass to a three-year deal to sponsor the upgraded space. The Compass Premier Club, a $2.5 million project funded by the Padres, brings new life to an 8,000-square-foot lounge that had not been renovated since the ballpark opened in 2004, said Erik Greupner, the team’s president of business operations. The club is a three-tiered section of 775 seats behind home plate that sits behind the Crown Club, the premium seats closest to the field. Diamond club seats, as they are known generically, are among the most lucrative seats in baseball because of their location, and most MLB teams sell them in full-season and half-season ticket plans. Spectra Has Big Plans in Big D

(Kevin Brown / State Fair of Texas) Fair Park’s new manager making plans to improve 277-acre Dallas complex Spectra has its hands full in Dallas, charged with revitalizing historic Fair Park, home of the State Fair of Texas and multiple sports and entertainment venues. In January, the facility management firm officially took over operations of the 277-acre property. Spectra signed a 20-year deal with Fair Park First, a nonprofit whose mission is to restore the complex. It’s a big move for the city of Dallas, whose park and recreation department ran Fair Park for decades before handing the reins to Fair Park First to strengthen its future growth. Falcons, Atlanta United Going Cashless

AMB Sports & Entertainment has added cash-free points of sale at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in the past year. (Getty Images) Transition comes as part of AMB Sports’ decision to lower some concessions prices further Cashless venues are gaining traction at the highest level of sports. AMB Sports & Entertainment, owner of the NFL’s Atlanta Falcons and Major League Soccer’s Atlanta United FC, has committed to eliminating cash transactions at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. The move takes effect March 10, when Atlanta United opens its 2019 home schedule against FC Cincinnati. Mercedes-Benz Stadium becomes the second big-league building to go cashless for food and merchandise after Tropicana Field, home of Major League Baseball’s Tampa Bay Rays.
