On Halloween night, San Antonio’s Alamodome welcomed boxing fans inside for the first “Fight Night” since the shutdown of live entertainment eight months ago. Four bouts were featured, including the main event with Gervonta Davis facing Leo Santa Cruz for both the World Boxing Association lightweight and super featherweight titles, a rarity in boxing where titles in two weight classes are on the line. Davis was ultimately the winner with a knockout victory in the sixth round. The Premier Boxing Champions event drew a crowd of 9,024 at the stadium, which had instituted social distancing precautions and lowered the number of tickets available for purchase due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The fights produced a gross of $1,451,475 to earn the No. 1 ranking on this month’s Hot Tickets chart. The event was also made available on Showtime pay-per-view. Hot Tickets: December 2020
