Clippers Choose AECOM Hunt/Turner

Joint venture will build NBA team’s new $800 million arena The joint venture of AECOM Hunt and Turner Construction will build the Los Angeles Clippers’ $800 million arena in Inglewood, Calif., according to sources familiar with the selection process. Clippers officials and AECOM Hunt declined comment. The news comes as no surprise, considering AECOM Hunt’s relationship with the NBA’s Clippers. The firm’s construction group has been consulting for the team for a few years on arena development. Plus, the Clippers selected AECOM’s sports architecture group to design the arena, sources said. AECOM planned Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, which opened in 2016 as the home of the NBA’s Kings. There are other connections. Wilson Meany, which ran the process for selecting a builder for the Clippers, is the developer for the Los Angeles Stadium and Entertainment District across the street from the Clippers’ site.
