THE SKY’S THE LIMIT: Six60 played Sky Stadium in Wellington, New Zealand, on Feb. 13. (Courtesy Six60) New Zealand’s Six60 just played six stadium concerts, and they’re ready for more On a warm Wellington, New Zealand, summer evening Feb. 13, rock band Six60’s lead singer, Matiu Walters, stood before a sellout crowd of 32,000 at Sky Stadium and yelled, “Haere Mai (‘welcome’ in the indigenous Maori language), Wellington! Welcome to the biggest show on earth!” The fans chanted back, “This is forever, yeah!” from the chorus of the band’s early hit “Forever.” Walters was not in any way being hyperbolic.  Thanks to New Zealand’s successful response to COVID-19 and the country’s subsequent easing of social distancing and restrictions on mass gatherings, no other act in the world has played to an audience that size in 2021, or for most of 2020 to boot. 2019 Q1: Coming In Hot

(Getty Images) Holiday classics, new ideas power inaugural Q1 charts No matter what kind of year you’re having at the box office, you can count on the holidays to help goose the numbers, thanks to some perennial seat fillers and A-list acts that make for perfect stocking stuffers. That’s the takeaway from conversations with VenuesNow’s Top Stops leaders as  the first quarter of 2019 drew to a close.   The Q1 report is a first for VenuesNow, as is a separate set of charts listing only the top North American venues.
