IN THE ROUND: Moderator Phil Quist, Patrick Wilson, Tyler Scott, Victoria Gutierrez and Sali Kharazi.
Pollstar and VenuesNow proudly present 2021’s Impact: Next Gen Honorees Roundtable, featuring four esteemed live industry executives from this year’s list: Victoria Gutierrez of ICM Partners, artist manager Sali Kharazi of Full Stop Management, tour promoter Tyler Scott of Live Nation, and talent buyer Patrick Wilson of New Jersey’s White Eagle Hall and the National Independent Venue Association in a fascinating conversation with moderator Phil Quist of CAA, a Pollstar 2021 Impact 50 honoree.
Recorded at the historic and newly renovated Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, the roundtable delved deeply into the careers of each honoree — which varied greatly. This included how the panelists got their footing on the first rung of the live industry’s ladder of success: Wilson, for example, interned at the 300-capacity Space in Evanston, Illinois; Scott was a “ringer” on Live Nation’s softball team; Gutierrez took an elective class from a professor who wrote for the show “Cheers”; and Kharazi worked on a street team for a band made of her camp counselors. The traits each of these impressive individuals share, however, is a passion for music, hard work, dedication and smarts, enabling them all to quickly ascend in this highly competitive business.
Other topics explored included tent pole moments, pivoting during the pandemic, mentors, the effects of new technologies, the importance of diversity and inclusion, breaking into the business, and the future of the industry.
