Move of the Month Atlanta-based Tvsdesign named Chris Lamberth head of its sports practice. Lamberth has more than 20 years of experience in the sports venue design industry, having spent time at International Facilities Group, HKS and, most recently, 360 Architecture, where he was a founding member. Susan Crockett was promoted to president and CEO of Clearwater, Fla.’s Ruth Eckerd Hall. Crockett began her tenure June 1, after serving as acting president and CEO since October. Crockett has held numerous roles at Ruth Eckerd Hall in the last three decades, including chief operating officer. In addition to the 2,200-seat main venue, Crockett will oversee the 800-seat Nancy and David Bilheimer Capitol Theatre. Mark Gress Jr. was made partner at Prodigy Sports. (Courtesy The Senate)  The ‘Springsteen on Broadway’ trend continues as Madonna’s coming tour heads for the opera house  Jaws dropped when Madonna announced that her new tour would start in September at the 2,100-seat Howard Gilman Opera House at the Brooklyn Academy of Music and move into similarly small rooms for the remainder of the 48-show tour.  Madonna, who practically invented the crowd-pleasing, production-heavy tours we see today, has been selling out arenas and stadiums since the 1980s and holds the record for the best-selling tour by a female artist in live event history after she grossed $411 million from 84 shows with her 2008-09 Sweet & Sticky Tour, according to Pollstar. SuiteHop Marks Fifth Anniversary

Company helps connect buyers with available inventory SuiteHop, the luxury shared-suite service, is celebrating its five-year anniversary under the name, and 20% year-over-year increased revenue since its inception. The idea has proved successful, but it’s not the business model that SuiteHop started with years earlier, founder and CEO Todd Lindenbaum said. “I had recognized that the opportunity to make suites available on a flexible basis was a good idea, but it took embracing the shared economy to make it really fly,” said Lindenbaum, who previously worked with the San Francisco Giants in suite sales. “In the first iteration of the idea we owned suites and marketed them but when we pivoted to the SuiteHop model — a two-sided marketplace where we didn’t own any inventory — we found our sweet spot,” he said. “Now we simply aggregate inventory and make it available to a wide universe of national buyers.” SuiteHop… Continue Reading SuiteHop Marks Fifth Anniversary

Grilly Increases Role at Cirque

Eric Grilly. (Courtesy Cirque du Soleil Entertainment Group) Cirque expands VStar CEO’s duties Eric Grilly is the new head of studio alliances for Cirque Du Soleil Entertainment Group. Grilly is CEO of VStar Entertainment Group, which was bought by Cirque Du Soleil Entertainment Group in 2017. His new responsibilities will include developing business opportunities with Hollywood studios, IP providers and other license owners to increase the company’s global opportunities. Grilly has been on a roll lately, securing strategic partnerships with Nickelodeon and NBCUniversal for VStar. This fits squarely into Cirque’s mission to acquire more properties and turn itself into the Live Nation of the theatrical business, a mandate that comes from the investors, led by TPG Capital, which bought Cirque du Soleil in 2015.
