Mixhalo isn’t just for music; Staples Center will use it for sports events. (Getty Images) Company, with Staples Center as client, looks to remake how we hear live entertainment The mix is off at a concert. The dialogue at a Broadway show is moving too fast. The star player for a sports team makes a critical play — and from the upper deck, it’s tough to tell exactly what happened. The fan experience isn’t always up to snuff, and in an age where pristine concert live streaming and high-def sports broadcasts are commonplace, ensuring the engagement of those who leave the comfort of their living rooms is increasingly important. Enter Mixhalo, which is aiming to revolutionize how we hear live entertainment and has already garnered support from industry heavyweights such as Red Light Management and Another Planet Entertainment, artists including Metallica and Aerosmith, and venues like Staples Center. “We’re really… Continue Reading Mixhalo Offers Fans Aud-Mented Reality

VN Conference: Fiserv, Wrigley Provide Case Studies In Entertainment District Panel

The panel for “City Planning and Entertainment Districts and the Venue Footprint in 2030.” (Eric Renner Brown / Staff) Few venue-related advancements in recent years have been more prominent than the strategically planned entertainment districts sprouting up around arenas and stadiums. Several leading minds in the sector — John Shreve (Populous), Peter Feigin (Milwaukee Bucks/Fiserv Forum), Eric Nordness (Hickory Street Capital), Kirk Safford (Lyft) and Dana Warg (313 Presents) — convened at the VenuesNow Conference on Tuesday to discuss the rapid growth of such districts, and what lays ahead for them. For one, not all entertainment districts are created equal, a contrast illustrated by Feigin and Nordness’ work with the areas surrounding Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee and Wrigley Field in Chicago, respectively. With Fiserv Forum, planners had 30 contiguous acres to work with; at Wrigley Field, Hickory Street Capital had only a small sliver of land next to the ballpark… Continue Reading VN Conference: Fiserv, Wrigley Provide Case Studies In Entertainment District Panel
