LIVE! ROUNDUP Two tours delivered 13 of the 20 highest-grossing concerts and events reported on the final Hot Tickets of 2020. Australian Christian music duo For King & Country hit the chart with eight concerts, and Americana artists Koe Wetzel and Read Southall scored with five. For King & Country’s shows came as part of its “A Drummer Boy” Christmas drive-in tour supporting a holiday-themed album released in late October. What do ticketing professionals do when there aren’t any tickets to sell? In 2020, we found the answer to that question: They don’t stand still. An exponentially larger volume of refunds for postponed and canceled shows had to be navigated. At some venues, events trickled back starting in late summer and required the creation and management of socially distanced seating maps.
