Ticketmaster has developed a new social distance seating tool to help sports and entertainment venues navigate the process for selling tickets for events with reduced capacity during the pandemic.
Current COVID-19 restrictions have arena operating in ‘club’ format The 4,000-capacity Fórum Karlín in Prague, capital of the Czech Republic, has signed Ticketmaster Česká republika as ticket supplier and operator. Starting this month, tickets for all newly announced events presented at the multipurpose building will be sold via Ticketmaster, including shows such as Thom Yorke, Michael Kiwanuka, Nick Mason, Patti Smith, The Neighbourhood and Yes. Ticketmaster’s knowledge of the arena space will help with Fórum Karlín’s ambitions of becoming “a pioneer in digital ticketing and live entertainment, with the aim to soon become the first Net Zero Carbon venue of the Czech Republic,” according to the announcement. Agreement boosts ticketer’s profile in Czech Republic Starting from this month, Ticketmaster will handle all tickets for coming events at O2 Arena in Prague. Th 18,000-capacity multipurpose venue hosts concerts, sports fixtures and other forms of live entertainment. It’s the home arena of ice hockey team HC Sparta Praha. The building opened in 2004 to host the IIHF World Championships. In 2019, the arena welcomed it 10 millionth visitor. A smaller multipurpose space next to the arena, called O2 Universum, is scheduled to open its doors in September. The venue will host sports and concerts but also operate as a congress center for corporate events with up to 10,000 visitors. Ticketmaster launched in the Czech Republic two years ago by acquiring local ticketing agency Ticketpro.
